The Six Best Ways to Waste Money on Your Next Clothing Purchase

In 2010 I felt there was a lack of choices for men who wanted to create their own style.  As a result, Wayne Edwards Workshop was created.

Through the years, we've seen a lot and we've done a lot.  Based on our years of experience, we've created a list that will help you spend unwisely on your next clothing purchase - guaranteed.

1.  DO NOT plan ahead.  Don't review what's in your closet.  Don't review what's worked and what hasn't worked in the past.

2.  Shop at a store that doesn't keep records of your prior purchases.  One of the best ways to assure continuity is with good records.  Not just the financial aspect of your purchases, but the actual color, style, and design of the fabrics and models.  The lack of records opens up the door for a lot of guess work, and potentially re-occurring mistakes.

3.  Shop with a salesperson who doesn't have your long term goals in mind.  Forget the consultative approach, allow yourself to be sold by the "one and done" transactional sales person.  They will be very happy you did.

4. Settle.  Settle on fit, fabric, style and construction.  The less informed the better.

5.  Buy a popular brand name garment.  Hey, you saw the advertisement so it's got to be good.  After all, the ad says it's as good as it gets.  Just remember, part of your purchase price is paying for that glossy ad. 

6.  Be limited to the merchandise in the store.  Forget uniqueness, forget individuality.  You should be wearing what the buyer deemed trendy, regardless of whether it looks good on you, right?
