What to Wear For A Summertime Bespoke Men's Wedding Suit

A classic look

If you want to play the classic roles, a single-breasted two-button suit with a notch lapel is always a safe bet. If you need any more convincing of its versatility, just look at how many ways Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have worn theirs. Some of our favorite new fabrics include stretch wool, which offers comfort and style in one.

For color, it’s hard to beat the classics. Navy is always a safe bet for single-color suits, but we are loving the lighter greys and deep blues that we’re seeing everywhere this spring. If you want to show off your personality a little bit through color, try wearing the jacket separate from the pant and bring in some bolder colors in your shirt or sweater.

If you're shying away from a colorful bespoke wedding suit, we beg your pardon. We can't help ourselves. We love a colorful suit. We consider it a wonderful way to express yourself and add some flair to your day (and wedding experience).

Forget about the old rules about not wearing brown in town, and forget about the old rules about how you shouldn't wear navy with black. Go for it!

We encourage you to be brave and go for a richer shade of blue fabric on your suit. It will look amazing, even if you don't normally wear bold colors. If that's too bold for you, try something in an unusual shade of grey or tan.

Go bold

Whether you're the groom, the best man, or a guest, choosing a suit can be an exciting way to express your style and individuality. Opting for more of a statement piece is one way to go bold with your wedding-wear. Lighter colors like cream and light blue are great options for summer weddings—they help you stand out without overheating. A distinctive patterned suit will be eye-catching without being overwhelming. You can also incorporate color in small ways that still make a big impact—by opting for accessories that match the bride's bouquet, or adding pops of color through your tie or pocket square. Don't feel like you have to be too formal with your choices; it’s important to feel comfortable in what you wear! Remember: if you're wearing something that reflects who you are, people will notice and appreciate the effort. Don’t forget footwear

No matter the suit, wedding day or otherwise, you should always wear a matching shoe. You can go formal or casual with your footwear choices and we are seeing a lot of casual shoes done up in rich leathers and dressy shoes done up in soft supple suedes. Pick the right color and fabric whether it is leather or suede, it’s all about completing the outfit and good shoes are a must.

Socks: Shall we forget about the socks? If you are wearing a tuxedo then socks are a must but if it’s a casual or dressy suit then we are definitely feeling the no sock look. Again, many of our summer shoes will be unlined which lends itself to the no sock look.

Forget black tie?

You don’t have to wear a black tie for a formal wedding. While it’s the standard for black tie weddings, you can look quite dapper in a bespoke men's wedding suit from Wayne Edwards Workshop. If the wedding is not explicitly black tie, then consider wearing a dark suit instead. Dark grey or navy are good alternatives to black, and both can be worn with matching waistcoats and trousers, or with white jackets. Your outfit should be finished off with either a bow tie or necktie for that perfect look.
